This project is located in the Kiska-Willson Public Land Use Zone (PLUZ), at a site to be developed across Highway 11 from Thompson Creek Provincial Recreation Area, 83km southwest of the town of Nordegg, Alberta. This site is adjacent to the existing Thompson Creek Falls hiking trail which is nested in the eastern slopes of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, in west-central Alberta, as part of the David Thompson Country (DTC). The proposed scope of work to be completed is development of a staging area off of Highway 11 to provide safe access to the Thompson Creek Falls hiking trail. The scope of work includes: .1 Paved vehicle access entrance off of Highway 11; .2 A marked pedestrian crossing across Highway 11 to the Thompson Creek PRA (in collaboration with Alberta Transportation); .3 Gravel parking area for 20 vehicles; .4 Vault toilet building (Two-stalls); .5 Information kiosk; .6 Bear-proof garbage and recycling bins; .7 Granular pedestrian connector trail from the staging area to the main Thompson Creek Falls hiking trail, and a well-defined trailhead. .8 Upgraded signage and wayfinding using AFP standard sign catalogue. as needed (and Alberta Transportation signage for the Highway crossing). TIMELINE: A Request For Proposals from Architectural and Engineering Services has been issued by the owner. The intent of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit Proposals, in accordance with the procurement and contracting requirements described in the RFP document, from firms interested in providing, Landscape Architectural and Engineering and Construction Administration Consultant Services for: Value based selection process will be employed for this procurement. This means that the successful Proponent will be the one whose Proposal offers best value, taking into consideration both qualifications and price.
