Renovation of a municipal facility in Northampton, Massachusetts. Working plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The single bid received for this project is over the city's budgeted amount and project will be bidding again in the near future. The City of Northampton invites sealed bids for the proposed Northampton City Hall Exterior Repairs at the Northampton City Hall building located at 210 Main Street in Northampton. The project is estimated at $225,000. Work is projected to start in the late spring, early summer of 2024. Filed sub-bids (Painting) Project scope covers all work outlined in attached plans and specifications by Dietz Architects. CONTRACTOR STANDARDS: Bidding Contractors must have a minimum of two (2) fully trained and competent technicians. The successful Contractor must provide a Workers Compensation Insurance & Liability Insurance Certificates prior to beginning work on City Property. Experience and References Five years experience required. Three references required. STORAGE A minimal amount of storage for materials at the Northampton City Hall facility will be permitted. Anything stored outside on the City of Northampton City grounds will not be the Citys responsibility. SUBMITTALS Furnish documentation on material specifications and material warranties as required. DESCRIPTION OF WORK A. It is assumed that all woodwork and other painted surfaces on the Northampton City Hall contains lead paint. B. Whenever there are discrepancies between hazmat specifications sections, the stricter requirements shall apply. It shall be the Contractor's responsibility to perform all such abatement of those materials in accordance with this Section as well as applicable local, state and federal regulations. C. The quantities in the Tables and Plans are approximate and the contractor is responsible for making their own quantity estimates. Full access to the site has been granted during the bidding process in order to observe the locations and conditions of the hazardous materials to be abated under this contract. D. Based on the hazmat reports; the age of the building; and previous painting history, the Contractor shall assume any paint surfaces to contain lead, cadmium and chromium and comply with this Section and OSHA Regulations accordingly. In addition, building components such as pipe sleeves, conduit, electrical equipment, etc. may also contain lead, cadmium or chromium that will require compliance with this The Contractor, at their own discretion may elect to perform testing to confirm the presence of lead, cadmium and chromium in the building. However, all costs associated with additional testing and compliance with this Section shall be borne by the Contractor under the Base Bid.
