For services installed after the 1989 lead ban, the City has been able to identify their material as nonlead. For service lines installed prior to 1989, the Contractor shall work with the City to identify service line materials for the utility-owned and customer-owned portions of the service lines. The City of Northport (hereinafter, "City") is requesting proposals from contractors to assist the City with a Lead Service Line Inventory (LSLI) for the Northport Water System that will be conducted in response to EPA's Lead and Copper Rule. The City needs identification of the service line material for their service line inventory that must be submitted to the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) by October 16, 2024. In order to allow time for processing of information, the time of completion for this work will be ninety (90) calendar days. No inquiries will be accepted after the deadline. The bid guarantee shall consist of a cashier's check drawn on an Alabama bank or a bid bond executed by a surety company duly authorized and qualified to make bonds in the State of Alabama. Performance Bond - In an amount not less than 100% of the contract price. Payment Bond - Payable to the awarding authority, shall be executed in an amount not less than 50% of the contract price.
