Renovation of a conference / convention center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Design plans call for the renovation of a conference / convention center.
As of May 29, 2025, this project is in the design phase. Construction is expected to begin in early 2026. Mecklenburg County is requesting a Statement-of-Qualifications (SOQ) from qualified Architectural firms for professional services. The scope will consist of providing design, procurement and CA services for new HVAC, HVAC controls, Camera system, Intrusion Alarm and Duress system, Card Access system, creation of an IT Closet, Elevator Modernization, and Exterior Courtyard Modifications at the Sam Billings Center. The Firm selected must be licensed in North Carolina, qualified & have experience with replacement of HVAC, HVAC Controls, Camera/Intrusion Alarm and Duress/Card Access systems, Elevator modernizations and exterior courtyard modifications in existing buildings.
