The existing North 43 Lagoon facility was constructed in 2003 and has the following infrastructure: Sixty (60) day facultative lagoon cell with 12,600 m3 of storage and HDPE geosynthetic liner, Twelve (12) month storage cell with 76,300 m3 of storage and HDPE geosynthetic liner, Designed service population of one thousand five hundred (1,500) people, including seasonal and permanent residences, A sewage pump station to transfer sewage from the facultative cell to the storage cell, A two hundred (200) mm diameter forcemain with pump station to discharge the treated effluent from the storage cell to No Outlet Lake, and Designed daily waste flow capacity of two hundred and nine (209) m3/day or (76,300 m3/year). The North 43 Sewage Lagoon discharges annually in October to No Outlet Lake, a wetland area located approximately three (3) km to the north of the lagoon. The lagoon discharges through a forcemain at the rate of forty-two (42) L/s over the allowable discharge period of twenty-one (21) days. An expansion to this facility is required to accommodate the future wastewater volumes as outlined in the Feasibility Study or Studies. An expansion may also require anaerobic, facultative and storage cells, or utilization of the existing cells and construction of a new cell(s). TIMELINE: Request for Proposals from engineering consultants for preliminary planning and design services is currently underway.
