Sand, Gravel & Stone Each bid must be secured by an accompanying deposit in the amount of five (5%) percent of the total of all items bid in the form of a bid bond or certified check, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company payable to the Town of Belmont. A bid bond shall be in a form satisfactory to the awarding authority, with a surety company qualified to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and conditioned upon the faithful performance by the Principal of the agreements contained in the Bid The bid deposit of the three (3) lowest responsible and eligible bidders will be retained until the specific Contract has been duly executed, and then returned, or if no award is made, then at the expiration of thirty (30) days..
