Removal and Replacement of pipe The project contemplated consists of the following Quantities: Propeties Participating: 24 Properties with Lateral Rehabilitation via Pipe Bursting or Open Cut: 18 Properties with Foundation Drain Disconnection: 18 Shared Connection Removals: 2 Properties with Lateral Rehabilitation of Property with a failed CIPP Liner (Category B Property): 3 The Contractor shall be responsible for: 1. The scheduling and occurrence of a preconstruction meeting with a District's representative and the homeowner to confirm the lateral replacement approach and assessment of existing conditions. 2. The scheduling of construction work with each homeowner at least two weeks prior to construction occurring. 3. The sanitary sewer lateral replacement from the mainline to a District-approved location. This may include tree, fence, and pavement removal to facilitate construction. The mainline wye connection is to be replaced with a new wye, including mainline connections. If a shared lateral connection is found, the shared connection will be removed, and two lateral wyes will be installed. This rehabilitation shall be using open cut or pipe bursting as determined at the preconstruction meeting. Post construction televising of the lateral shall be recorded and uploaded to t4Vault. 4. The sanitary sewer lateral replacement from the mainline to a District approved location for properties identified as Category B are defined separately due to the laterals being a repair due to failed lateral. The mainline wye connection is to be replaced with a new wye, including mainline connections. If a shared lateral connection is found, the shared connection will be removed, and two lateral wyes will be installed. This rehabilitation shall be using open cut or pipe bursting as determined at the preconstruction meeting. Pipe samples may be taken by the District from these failed liners. Post construction televising of the lateral shall be recorded and uploaded to t4Vault. 5. The Foundation drain disconnection of all identified properties with the abandonment of a Palmer Valve and installation of a sump pump. This process will also include electrical outlet installation to power the sump pump and installation of a District supplied runtime meter. 6. Any traffic control, permitting, and waste disposal requirements. 7. Restoration of all turf & pavement areas, including fence replacement, post construction. All questions related to this proposed contract, pre-bid presentation, or interested bidders list must be directed in writing to Nathan Churchill, nchurchill@mmsd.com, no later than 3 calendar days before the bid opening date.
