We do this by caring. Identifying and meeting the needs of vulnerable youth, families in distress, and single adults, to have immediate shelter, find a place to call home, and to sustain a roof over their heads. We provide individual supportive and wraparound services through case managers, supportive and transitional housing, emergency shelters, a youth services hub, a housing help center, and permanent housing. Home Base Housing is a non-profit organization that has provided a range of supportive housing in Kingston, Ontario since 1987. Home Base Housing programs are open to single adults, families, youth, and members of marginalized groups with a range of life experiences and challenges. These may include homelessness, financial issues, substance abuse, mental health issues, developmental disabilities, head injuries, or physical disabilities. We offer housing opportunities and support to individuals, aged 16 and over, who are homeless or unable to remain in an unsafe situation. Our staff work to help tenants live independently, and with their approval, we welcome and encourage other professionals and family to become involved in the process. Kingston Youth Services Hub (KYSH) Project includes for: 1. Complete demolition of Vatcher Hall and 2 existing building additions 2. Selective demolition in existing Church building 3. Renovation of the interior of the Church 4. Structural reinforcing to existing Church building 5. Designated substances abatement in all existing buildings and additions 6. New site services and mechanical and electrical vault 7. Construction of a new 4 storey residential and office building with ICF basement walls and wood framed superstructure 8.
