Renovation of a medical facility in San Diego, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 840-square-foot medical facility.

Project No. S221989-37-00 Requests for clarification or interpretation of the Bidding Documents are due by 10 A.M, September 3, 2025. This project entails the replacement of existing OR medical equipment with upgraded equipment. The project is located in Cath Lab #1 on the second floor of the Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center, UC San Diego Health Medical Center, La Jolla - 9434 Medical Center Drive, San Diego, CA 92037. The intent is to keep the project as an equipment "replacement in-kind" project, with additional modifications to existing architecture and infrastructure only as necessary for the installation of the new equipment. The equipment to be replaced includes: Philips patient table, ceiling supported Clea stand and supporting equipment, and a dedicated uninterrupted power supply. The University seeks Contractors with demonstrated experience in renovations to existing hospital or clinical medical facility while the facility remains in full operations, and other facilities that contain a high degree of technical complexity. to accommodate equipment replacement installations within an operational facility. Specific experience requirements include operating room renovations, Cardiology and Perioperative room renovations, equipment replacement projects. Bid Security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Lump Sum Base Bid, excluding alternates, shall accompany each Bid. The Surety issuing the Bid Bond shall be, on the Bid Deadline, listed in the latest published State of California, Department of Insurance, list of Insurers Admitted to Transact Surety Insurance in This State. The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: License B- General Building Contractor. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. In addition, the University is committed to promoting and increasing participation of small business enterprises (SBEs) and disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBEs) relating to all goods and services covered under the awarded agreement, subject to any and all applicable obligations under state and federal law, and University policies. The awarded contractor shall make best efforts to provide qualified SBEs and DVBEs with the maximum opportunity to participate.
