As of June 18, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on June 27, 2024. Contract is for Clarifier No. 3 Coating Rehabilitation. Sandblasting all internal metal areas where the coating has failed to the point that bare metal is exposed to an SSPC-SP10 specification. Apply a prime coat of paint (white in color) to areas that were sand blasted. Sweep blasting all surfaces of the metal that is internal to the clarifier in order to achieve specified surface profile of the existing coating to the point necessary to provide for proper bonding of paint to be applied. Apply a final coat of paint (buff in color) to all surfaces of the metal that are internal to the clarifier Coating repairs are to be made in such a way to restore the coating to a condition that makes it equivalent to the original installed condition. All Bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check drawn on a state or local bank in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid price, and payable without recourse to the Gulf Coast Water Authority, Texas City, Texas, or a Bid Bond in the same amount from a reliable surety company authorized to do business in the State of Texas, as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a Contract. The successful bidder must furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price and upon the forms which are attached hereto. The Contractor shall forfeit as a penalty, to the Gulf Coast Water Authority, Sixty Dollars ($60.00) for each laborer, workman or mechanic employed, for each working day, or portion thereof, is such laborer, workman or mechanic is found to be paid less that the stipulated rates for any work done under this Contract.
