Renovation of an educational facility in Kearny, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The project involves selective removals, new ceilings and related carpentry, painting, electrical work related to lighting and other associated work in all instructional spaces Bidders may visit the sites by contacting Mark Bruscino, Director of Plant Operations at 201-955-5116 or by email: mbruscino@kearnyschools.com, to arrange a site visit. All questions with regard to the bid must be received by the Architect, Fallon+Pacheco Architects, no later than WEDNESDAY, JUNE 19TH, 2024. All questions must be submitted in written form. Bids shall be delivered in person to the office of the Business Administrator/Board Secretary between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. on official business days. Bids are submitted on the proposal forms in the manner designated, enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of bidder and proposal identification number on the outside, and must be accompanied by certified check, cashiers check or bid bond drawn to the order of the Kearny Board of Education, for not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, but in no case in excess of twenty thousand ($20,000.00); and must be delivered to the Business Administrator at the above place, by the hour named. The Board of Education and Architects assume no responsibility for bids mismailed or misdirected. Each bidder shall submit with its bid, a Certificate of Concent of Surety as per N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-25 from a Surety company stating that it will provide the bidder and all subcontractors, if successful, with a performance/ payment bond in the full amount of the contract. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening thereof'. The Kearny Board of Education reserves the right to reject and and all bids or to waive informally in the bidding if it is in the interest of the Board of Education to do so. The contract(s) will be awareded to the lowest responsible bidder(s). Bidding shall be in conformance with the applicable requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et. seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27. All bidders must be pre-qualified as required by the New Jersey Schools Development Authority (NJSDA). The Bidders' attention is directed to the fact that all applicable federal, state, and municipal laws, and ordances, rules and regulations, incuding P.L. 1975, c. 127, (N.J.A.C. 17:27) regarding Affirmative Action, of all authorities having jurisdiction over construction work in the locality of the project shall apply to the contract throughout, and they will be deemed to be included in the contract the same as if set forth therein at length, including, but not limited to, those laws indentified in the INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. Pursuant to "The Public Works Contractor Registration Act" (P.L. 1999, c238), bidders and their subcontactors are required to be registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor and to possess a current certificate by said Department indicating compliance with the Act. Bidders are notified of this requirement of their complaince. If, at the time of the bid opening stated above, the certificate or renewed certificate from the Department has not yet received by the bidder, proof of application along with the cancelled check for the application fee shall be provided to the Board of Education in lieu of such certificate. Once the certificate is received, a copy of same shall be delivered forthwith to the Kearny Board of Education. The Owner Reserves the Right to Reject Any or All Bids and Not Award a Contract for Any Portion of the Project if the Owner Has Not Obtained the Requisite Approval for the Project or Any Portion Thereof From the Appropriate State Agency. Any Agreement Entered Into by the Board for Any Portion of the Project is Expressly Conditioned Upon the Owner Obtaining the Requisite Approval for the Project or Any Portion Thereof. Work included: This Section applies to situations in which the Contractor or his representatives including, but not necessarily limited to, suppliers, subcontractors, employees, and field engineers, enter the Owners property.
