Site work for a water / sewer project in Carpentersville, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Removal of The carpenter Dam. The District Reserves the Right to Reject any or All Bids. All Contracts for the Construction of Public Works Are Subject to the Illinois prevailing Wage Act (820 Ilcs 130/1, Et Seq.) The project consists ofthe removing ofthe Carpentersville Dam for the purposes of improved river safety and improve aquatic habitat. The dam will be fully removed with the river system being restored to its natural level. While the abutments may remain in place for bank stabilization and to ensure amenities such as nearly pavalions are not impacted, the stream characteristics will be returned to a natural flowing channel. The will create benefits to fish & mussle species diversity upstream ofthe dam, fish spawning, fish and mussel habitat.
