This budget item is for the construction of an eastbound double left-hand turn on Lincoln Avenue at Pine Drive. In addition, a southbound to westbound acceleration lane and sidewalk would be constructed on the north side of Lincoln Avenue. Purpose/Discussion Douglas County previously constructed the Lincoln Avenue/Pine Drive intersection in 2002, and the Town annexed the intersection plus the roadway to the west through a series of annexations in 2007, 2008 and 2012. In addition, Douglas County is contemplating improvements to Pine Drive and Pine Lane north of this intersection commencing in 2024 to address ever-increasing traffic in the area. Traffic at the intersection has increased and will continue to increase, which requires intersection improvements to address the operations. The construction of an eastbound to northbound double left-hand turn lane (currently a single left-hand turn lane) is needed to improve the operations of this traffic signal. Left-hand turning traffic at the intersections listed above routinely backs out of the turn lane during peak times, which creates a safety concern. In addition, a southbound to westbound acceleration lane is needed to address an accident trend. A sidewalk is also contemplated on the north side of Lincoln Avenue to connection this intersection into adjacent sidewalk and the Baldwin Gulch trail As of May 2, 2025, this project is included in the Town of Parker's Fiscal Year 2025-2034 CIP. Further information regarding a design firm and timeline for construction has not yet been established. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
