Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a transportation facility in Superior Township, Michigan. Completed plans call for the addition of a transportation facility; for the demolition of a transportation facility; for the renovation of a transportation facility; and for site work for a transportation facility.

Proposals are being solicited from construction contractor and engineering consultant joint ventures, construction contractor and engineering prime/sub teams, and other teams of businesses (Proposers) for the purpose of contracting for design-build services to engineer and construct an addition to the existing Airport Rescue & Firefighting Facility (ARFF) No. 4 at Willow Run Airport (YIP). The ARFF was originally completed and opened in 1969 and has had few substantial improvements since its completion. The Apparatus Bay is no longer large enough to house modern firefighting vehicles, and a replacement station is not scheduled for completion for a few years. The Wayne County Airport Authority (WCAA or Airport Authority) has new apparatus equipment ordered for delivery in 2024, and desires to have an addition along the entire West end of the building to accommodate the new vehicles. The successful Proposer will be responsible for confirmation of existing conditions, design, and engineering of the proposed addition, including selective demolition, new addition including architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and associated civil working including replacement of the adjacent driveway and associate storm sewer structure, walkways, grading and site restoration. The successful Proposer will be responsible for applying (with WCAA assistance) and paying for all necessary permits, proposing and award, construction and construction administration, quality control testing, commissioning of replacement equipment, close-out documentation, and any required warranty work. It is anticipated that construction will begin in early summer of 2024 and be Substantially Complete by the end October 2024.
