Alternate 1- Copper Service Lines. This project includes construction of approximately 2,000 linear feet of 10-inch and 12-inch PVC water main by trenched and trenchless techniques and with and without casing pipe. This alternate includes construction of copper service lines with curb valves. Alternate 2- PE Service Lines and Meter Pits. This project includes construction of approximately 2,000 linear feet of 10-inch and 12-inch PVC water main by trenched and trenchless techniques and with and without casing pipe. This alternate includes construction of PE service lines with meter pits. Est. Value Notes: Alternate 1 $643,000 - Alternate 2 $653,000 Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Section 26.8 of the Code of Iowa. Bid security shall be 10% of the bid amount. The work under the proposed Contract shall commence upon issuance of the written Notice to Proceed. The proposed water main improvements listed shall be fully completed on or before September 30, 2025. The Bidder agrees to pay as liquidated damages the sum of $500 for each consecutive calendar day after the specified completion date that the project is not fully completed. The Owner reserves the right to select which alternate they award the contract to after the bids have been considered and reviewed. The lowest price alternate might not be awarded the contract.
