The City of Whittier invites qualified engineering consultants to submit a proposal for on call engineering design services for the preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, and related construction documents for street rehabilitation projects. Deadline for requests for clarifications and questions - 5:00 p.m. April 25, 2024 Any questions related to this RFP shall be submitted in writing to the City of Whittier Public Works Department at PubWks@cityofwhittier.org before 5:00 p.m. on the request for clarifications deadline of April 25, 2024. No oral questions or inquiries about the RFP shall be accepted. Any interpretation or correction of this RFP will be made only by addendum duly issued by the City. Tentative Award of Contract at City Council Meeting May 28, 2024 This RFP if for on-call engineering design services for various street rehabilitation projects from June 2024 to June 2027. To be eligible for consideration, the Proposer must provide evidence of successfully completing plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) for local agencies within the past five years. The selected Consultant(s) may be asked to prepare PS&E documents for locations identified in Appendix C. The PS&E documents shall conform to all current, city, state, and federal design standards for roadways. Each project shall consist of evaluating current road conditions, providing recommendations for street rehabilitation throughout the 60%, 90%, and 100% PS&E submittals, preparing final plans and specifications, construction estimates, and as-needed construction support. Consultant must perform a pavement condition survey and appoint a Geotech to provide pavement treatment recommendations for arterial and collector roads.
