Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Suffolk, Virginia. Completed plans call for the construction of a fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.

SCOPE OF WORK - the City is seeking a qualified firm to provide all plant, labor, superintendence, materials, tools, equipment, supplies, incidentals, and other ancillary items necessary, as identified in these Contract Documents, in order to complete the Suffolk Fire Training Burn Building project, to the limits shown on the drawings and in accordance with all specification, terms, conditions, and drawings herein. SUMMARY OF WORK Work shall include construction of a fire fighting burn building structure, associated drive aisles, site utilities, and associated site work at this new development site. Work shall include minor site demolition, earthwork, all heavy and light duty drive pavements, concrete sidewalks, and pads, sitework, plumbing, electrical and landscaping. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES The contract resulting from this IFB will contain the following language: If said work is not completed within 300 calendar days as stated in the Notice to Proceed, the Contractor shall be liable and hereby agrees to pay to the Owner as liquidated damages, and not as a penalty, the amount of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per calendar day for each and every part of a day thereafter that said work does not meet substantial completion. Contractor shall be liable and hereby agrees to pay to the Owner as liquidated damages, and not as a penalty, the amount of two hundred and fifty dollars ($250.00) per calendar day for each and every part of a day thereafter that said work does not meet final completion. Withdrawal of Bids: Bidder has the right to request withdrawal of their bids from consideration due to error by giving notice not later than two business days after the bids are publicly opened. Work papers showing evidence of error(s) may be required. Bids may be withdrawn any time prior to the bid opening. Withdrawal of bids may be accomplished by submitting such request in writing on the issuing company's letterhead either in person, electronically, or by certified mail. Award: Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on the Total Bid Amount. The quality of the goods and/or services to be supplied, their conformity with the specifications, their suitability to the requirements, the delivery, qualifications, and references will be taken into consideration in making the award. The City reserves the right to refuse all bids. Determination of low bid shall be determined by the audited figure shown on the pricing page titled Total Bid Amount for IFB 24036-AG. In case of error in the extension of prices, the unit price shall govern.
