Renovation of a fire / police facility in Dracut, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

The Town of Dracut is seeking bids from contractors pursuant to M.G.L.c. 149 44A-44J for the replacement of roof, at the Dracut Fire Department, 488 Pleasant St., Dracut, MA. The scope of work includes removal, disposal, and replacement approximately 7761 square feet of roofing, and other work indicated in the Bid Documents. There is also one alternate included. The Town anticipates this project to be completed by August 15, 2024. Question Deadline 05/03/2024 at 11:00 AM ET Questions concerning this Invitation for Bid must be submitted, in writing to Barbara O'Connor at boconnor@dracutma.gov by Questions may be mailed or emailed. Written responses will posted as an addenda to the project page. Upon award of a contract, the prevailing bidder or bidders shall execute a contract (the form of which is attached hereto). The prevailing bidder shall have five (5) days to execute the contract. If the prevailing bidder or bidders fail to execute the contract within that time, the Town may end negotiations with that bidder or bidders and award the contract to the next lowest and responsible bidder(s). The successful Bidder will be required to provide both a performance bond as well as a labor and materials bond in an amount equal to one hundred (100%) percent of the total amount of the contract price, with a surety company qualified to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. All bids must be accompanied by a bid deposit in an amount that is not less than five percent (5%) of the value of the bid, including all alternates. Bid deposits, payable to the Town of Dracut, shall be either in the form of a bid bond, or cash, or a certified check on, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued by, a responsible bank or trust company. Bidders are reminded that the bid deposit covers the Town for damages when a bidder withdraws its bid after the bid submission date. Be advised that to the extent permitted by the law the Town will retain all bid deposits for withdrawn bids.
