GENERAL: The services required will primarily support the Public Works - Construction & Operations Division. Activities include performing land clearing and tree services. Such services are required as part of the drainage maintenance program and construction program. Tree services required may include removal of hazardous trees within the proximity of powerlines, structures, etc. Clearing services would be required for construction projects within Prince William County or Marine Corps Base Quantico (MCBQ). The Contractor shall, on an as-needed basis, provide land clearing and tree services to the County to include cleaning pruning, cutting, and or trimming of trees and bushes, tree removal or land clearing, and disposal of debris in a proper and legal manner at a County approved facility. The contractor shall supply all labor, tools, equipment, and materials necessary to perform the following services on an "as needed basis". Labor rates shall include all direct, indirect, and overhead costs such as transportation or workers and equipment. Labor and equipment rates will be paid on the basis of actual time spent working at the County job site. Services shall be performed in accordance with standard customary industry best practices unless otherwise stated herein. The Contract Administrator or designee will determine the work site with regard to services described in these specifications. If there is any ambiguity over boundary lines for a lot that the Contractor is to service, the Contractor shall contact the Contract Administrator or County Project Manager for an onsite demonstration before beginning any work and boundaries will be marked by a County provided surveyor. Trees shall be pruned, cut, and removed as necessary. Disturbed areas shall be raked and neatened. Cuttings, trash, and debris shall be cleared, removed from the site, and legally disposed of at a County approved facility. Tree Services will be charged in accordance with Hourly rates. The County reserves the right to procure services from another vendor in the event the Contractor fails to respond within the specified time periods or cannot complete the task order in the time period required by the County. In the event the initial Contract period is for more than 12 months, either party, without penalty, may terminate the Contract after the initial 12 months of the Contract period upon 60 calendar days written notice to the other party.
