Scope of Work The City of Joplin, Missouri is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) to commercially paint the exterior soffits/pillars and sections of interior walls of the Joplin History and Mineral Museum. Contractor is to remove any loose or peeling existing coatings and apply primer to substates. Patch and prep as needed interior walls. Applying 2 coats of appropriate paint for exterior surfaces and interior surfaces. Brick and non-painted surfaces to be protected from paint drips or overspray. Exterior Project Description: 1) Soffits/Pillars Surfaces to be cleaned/prepped prior to painting. Loose or peeling existing coating will be removed and exposed substrates will be sealed with appropriate primer. Apply 2 coats of premium quality paint. Brick and non-painted surfaces to be protected from drips or overspray. All holes or cracks between adjoining painted surfaces will be filled with caulking prior to painting. All work is to be completed in a workman-like manner. 2 yr. warranty. Labor and materials if paint failure appears. Color to be specified. Sherwin Williams or Pittsburg Plate Glass Interior Project Description: 1) Cox Hall: Patch and prep as needed. 2 coats of premium quality pre-catalyzed epoxy paint. All holes or adjoining painted surfaces will be filled with caulking prior to painting. Non painted surfaces to be protected from drips or overspray. All work is to be completed in a workman-like manner. 2 yr. warranty. Labor and materials if paint failure appears. Color to be specified. Sherwin Williams or Pittsburg Plate Glass 2) Hallway: Patch and prep as needed. 2 coats of premium quality pre-catalyzed paint. All holes or adjoining painted surfaces will be filled with caulking prior to painting. Non painted surfaces to be protected from drips or overspray. The City reserves the right to evaluate all bids, to reject any or all bids and re-bid at a later date. The City may waive any irregularities in the bid or negotiate variances from specifications and make awards that are in the best interests of the City. The City will have final decision in all matters regarding acceptance of bids and issuance of awards. The City encourages minority and female owned businesses to submit bids on all City purchases.
