Site work and renovation of an educational facility in San Diego, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 305,000-square-foot educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

PLEASE NOTE: The University has bid and awarded a CM at Risk Contract to McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. through a previous recruitment. McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is intending to bid on this package, however the University will receive and review all [SHORT LISTED GC] bids for this bid package. The new Triton Center Project will provide expanded and centralized space for specialized instructional support, student health and well-being services, including mental health, and other student academic services and resources to meet the needs of a rapidly growing and diverse student population. Triton Center would also include an alumni and welcome center, multi-purpose space for various campus programs, public realm improvements, and structured parking. The Triton Center project will redevelop 9.2-acres that are currently occupied by Myers Drive, Rupertus Lane/Walk, Russell Lane, and eight separate structures. The project replaces the old structures with new, higher-density, sustainability-focused buildings, anticipating 305,000 GSF of building and 82,000 GSF of structured parking / loading dock: 1. Student Health, Mental Health and Well-Being 2. Student Academic Resources Building 3. Alumni and Welcome Center 4. Multi-Purpose Building (Gallery, Celebration space, Parking, Flexible Academic space) The project would also include a small amount of retail space in support of enrollment growth, such as grab-and-go food options or other on-site services. The proposed project site includes 3.9 buildable acres and 5.3 acres of public realm improvements. With the Gilman Transit Hub at the southern site boundary, and close proximity to the new light rail trolley station at Pepper Canyon, the proposed project would create an arrival and welcoming destination for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The project will comply with the University of California Policy on Sustainable Practices, and UC San Diego design guidelines. The Sustainable Practices Policy establishes goals for green building, clean energy, transportation, climate protection, facilities operations, zero waste, procurement, food service, and water systems. The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: B - General Building Contractor. Bid Security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Lump Sum Base Bid, excluding alternates, shall accompany each Bid. The Surety issuing the Bid Bond shall be, on the Bid Deadline, listed in the latest published State of California, Department of Insurance, list of Insurers Admitted to Transact Surety Insurance in This State. Only Prequalified Bidders Will Be Allowed to Submit a Bid on This Bid Package. the Following Bidders Have Been Prequalified to Bid on This Bid Package: Conan Construction, Inc. Mccarthy Building Companies, Inc. Isec, Incorporated Prava Construction Services, Inc. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work.
