The Work includes edge milling, scratch course, and wearing course overlay of Geary Avenue from 3rd Street to Front Street and Front Street from Geary Avenue to Reno Street. The Work also includes design-build ADA-compliant curb ramps, for which the Contractor will be responsible for obtaining survey, designing, and submitting to the Borough for review by the Borough Engineer. All quantities listed are approximate. Liquidated damages apply at the rate of $500.00 per calendar day Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check made payable to "New Cumberland Borough" in the amount of 10% of the total bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The successful bidder shall provide a performance bond or certified check to the municipality in the amount of 100% of the contract within 15 days after the contract is awarded. New Cumberland Borough, Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Parts 21 and 23 of 49 C.F.R., notifies all respondents that it will affirmatively ensure that MBE/WBE will be afforded full opportunity to submit proposals in response to this invitation and that no person will be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, or national origin in consideration for an award. Work must be performed to ensure that non-discrimination/sexual harassment provision of the contract documents and the CFA are met. The work shall also conform to the requirements of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act Substantial completion shall be Friday, September 13, 2024, and completion of work and final pay shall be Friday, September 27, 2024. The Owner hereby reserves the right to reject any and/or all proposals submitted. The Owner also reserves the right to waive any defects, errors, omissions, irregularities, or informalities in the proposals received. All bids shall be irrevocable for sixty (60) days after the bid opening date. A pre-bid conference will not be conducted for this project.
