The project is anticipated to be awarded by the New Cumberland Borough Council at their regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, for construction of the following Project: "3rd Avenue Street Improvement Project" New Cumberland Borough Cumberland County, PA The work of the base bid of this project consists of milling and overlay and full-depth roadway reconstruction, installation of thermoplastic decorative pavement markings, curb, sidewalk, and concrete construction, design and installation of ADA curb ramps, and installation of site amenities. The work of the alternate bids of this project consists of additional sidewalk reconstruction and thermoplastic pavement marking. Liquidated damages apply at the rate of $500.00 per calendar day. Questions regarding the specifications shall be submitted online . Questions submitted after 5:00 PM on May 8, 2024, will not be answered. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check made payable to "New Cumberland Borough" in the amount of 10% of the total bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The successful bidder shall provide a performance bond or certified check to the municipality in the amount of 100% of the contract within 15 days after the contract is awarded. Work must be performed to ensure that non-discrimination/sexual harassment provision of the contract documents and the CFA are met. The work shall also conform to the requirements of the federal Davis Bacon Act. Substantial completion shall be Friday, October 25, 2024, and completion of work and final pay shall be Friday, November 1, 2024. The Owner hereby reserves the right to reject any and/or all proposals submitted. The Owner also reserves the right to waive any defects, errors, omissions, irregularities, or informalities in the proposals received.
