Water Plant Filter Upgrades This Project Consists of Improvements to the Town's Water Treatment Plant granular media filters. The work includes replacement of all filter underdrains and filter media, replacement of backwash supply valves, and installation of a new air scour system, complete with blowers, piping, valves, and actuators. The new blowers will be installed within a new building. Additional improvements include replacement of the washwater pump and vacuum priming system Attention of Bidders is Particularly Called to the Requirements as to Conditions of Employment to Be Observed and Minimum Wage Rates to Be Paid Under the Contract. The Minimum Wage Rates to Be Paid to Laborers and Mechanics Engaged in the Construction of This Project Shall Be the Latest Wage Rates Provided in Section Br-9 and Br-10. Article 3 of the New York State Veterans' Services Law Provides for More Meaningful Participation in Public Procurement by Certified Service-disabled Veteran-owned Businesses ("Sdvob"), Thereby Further Integrating Such Businesses Into New York State's Economy. The Town of Tonawanda Recognizes the Need to Promote the Employment of Service-disabled Veterans and to Ensure That Certified Service-disabled Veteran-owned Businesses Have Opportunities for Maximum Feasible Participation in the Performance of Town Contracts. The Owner/town Reserves the Right to Reject Any or All Bids for Failure to Comply With the Requirements of the Contract Documents but May, at Its Discretion, Waive Any Informalities or Irregularities. The Owner/town Further Reserves the Right to Reject Any or All Bids or to Award a Contract Which, in Its Judgment, is in the Best Interest of the Owner. No Bidder May Withdraw His/her/its Bid Within Ninety (90) Days After the Opening Thereof, Without Forfeiting the Bid Security, but May Withdraw Same at Any Time Prior to the Opening Thereof.
