Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Redwood City, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The following is the anticipated construction sequence plan, in which, the Contractor shall incorporate into its construction schedule: 1) 16th Avenue sanitary sewer work 2) 16th and Fair Oaks Avenue road work 3) 8th Avenue sanitary sewer work 4) 8th Avenue road work Inquiries must be received in writing via email, to jschabowski@smcgov.org, azhang@smcgov.org and wng@smcgov.org, by 5PM on June 7, 2024 Contractor shall begin work on the 16th Avenue sanitary sewer work, followed by 16th and Fair Oaks Avenue road work. All work including punch list items for 16th and Fair Oaks Avenue shall be completed by November 1, 2024. Following this work, the County will suspend working days from November 2, 2024 to April 13, 2025. There will be no work allowed during the winter months, unless approved in writing by the Engineer. Work will resume on April 14, 2025 (weather permitting) beginning with the 8 th Avenue sanitary sewer work and followed by 8 th Avenue road work. Following the completion of the 16th Avenue sanitary sewer work, and if time allows, Contractor may begin work on the 8th Avenue sanitary sewer work. The Contractor shall submit a written request and provide a construction schedule to the County for approval. The work to be done consists, in general, of replacing the existing roadway structural sections by mixing cement with existing native materials, grading and compacting, placing asphalt concrete pavement, constructing concrete valley gutters, installing pavement markings and markers, installing storm water infiltration underground basins, rebuilding curbs, traffic circles and chicanes, conforming areas adjacent to the new improvements, replacing existing 6" VCP sanitary sewer main with 6" PVC by open-trench or 6" HDPE by pipe bursting method, reconnecting existing sewer laterals to new sewer main, replacing of existing brick manholes with new concrete manholes, plugging existing inactive sewer laterals, as well as any other items and details not mentioned above, but required by the Project Plans, Standard Specifications and these Special Provisions, and the directions of the Engineer. After acceptance of this Proposal and award of the Contract, if the undersigned should fail to contract as aforesaid or should fail to give the "Performance" Surety Bond in the sum of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract bid, the "Payment" Surety Bond in the sum of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract bid, the Certificate of Insurance covering public liability and property damage in the amounts specified in the Agreement portion of these Contract documents, and the Certificate of Insurance covering Workmen's Compensation Insurance, within TEN (10) WORKING DAYS after award of the Contract, the County may, at its option, determine that the bidder has abandoned the Contract, thereupon this Proposal and the acceptance thereof shall be null and void, and the forfeiture of such security accompanying this Proposal shall operate and the same shall become the property of the County of San Mateo, State of California. The Contractor shall pay to the County of San Mateo the sum of Two Thousand Dollars ($2000.00) per calendar day for every calendar day delay over and above the number of working days prescribed above for finishing the work. The County of San Mateo reserves the right to reject any or all bids and/or waive any informalities or irregularities in any bid received.
