Site work for a road / highway in Aurora, Illinois. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway.
Traffic Signal modernization project on Farnsworth Avenue. This project will involve modernization of eight signals from Bilter Road to Sheffer Rd, with an ADT range of 20,000 to 30,000 at each intersection, as well as some sporadic resurfacing sections and a minor section of new shared use path. This project is utilizing Surface Transportation Program (STP) federal funds administered through Kane-Kendall Council of Mayors (KKCOM). The federal participation for the project will be 80% of construction costs, up to a maximum of $2,500,000. The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will front-fund the cost of construction and invoice the city for its 20% share and beyond the federal maximum participation amount. The costs to be paid by the city are reflected below. Construction is expected to begin in 2027. The project is included in the City's 2026-2035 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of April 28,2026, further details have not yet been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
