Question Submission Deadline:May 13, 2024, 3:00pm BID GUARANTEE Each Bid must be accompanied by a Guarantee in the form a cashier's check or money order, in an amount of five (5) percent of the Bid total, by a bond with corporate surety in an amount not exceeding five (5) percent of the Bid total, or by an irrevocable letter of credit issued by a bank or other financial institution duly recognized and authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. 2.17. PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BOND Upon Award, Bidder will, within ten (10) calendar days of Award notice, furnish a Performance Bond using sufficient surety or sureties, in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract price. The bond must specify that the Work will be completed in a manner satisfactory to the City. The bond must also state that the City is not liable for any expenses incurred through the failure to complete the Work as specified, nor liable for any damages growing out of the carelessness of Contractor, Contractor's employees, or subcontractors. Upon Award, Bidder will also, with ten (10) calendar days of Award notice, furnish a Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the Contract price. PECIFICATIONS FOR METAL PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT/FENCING ELECTROSTATIC SPRAY PAINTING Preparation All surfaces being refinished must have all foreign materials (tape, wax, etc.) removed and shall be thoroughly cleaned with a base detergent. The existing paint surface must be roughened by wet sanding. The surface must then be rinsed with clear water. The surfaces are to be wiped dry with a clean cloth and tack rag to collect any existing dust and/or lint. All trim, not being painted, shall be masked properly prior to painting. All surfaces shall be electrically grounded then properly sprayed using a Ramsburg #2 electrostatic painting process. If several spray passes are required to insure complete coverage of former color, each pass will be a light coat with sufficient drying time allowed so that the finish will not sag or curtain. All finished paint work shall be rendered free of any voids, runs or any other defects. After drying, all masking material will be removed. Coatings Coatings must meet requirements of over 100 degrees F flashpoint (TCC). Coatings must dry rapidly to assure that the item will be available for use at the start of the next work day. Film thickness to have a minimum of 1.0 mils (dry). Pencil hardness to equal H minimum after 48-72 hours. Coatings to be used, must be equivalentin performance to the original finish. Accessa Futurac 2-part urethane is the specified finish Paint VINCO Electrostatic Fence Paint or equivalent to be used. Black will be used the most for fencing. Vendor will need to match paint color for other assets such as lockers, playgrounds etc as needed. VINCO Electrostatic Paint is a generic alkyd enamel- This specially designed coating provides excellent adhesion properties along with rust inhibitors to prolong life. Also designed to match Federal Spec. MIL-E-15090-C Type II & III.
