File No: WM654 RM of Barrier Valley No. 397 is accepting tenders on our project Landfill Decommissioning. Our landfill is located 1km south of McKague. The major components of the project are as follows: removal & stockpiling of the existing perimter fence; construction of engineered cover system over this historic landfill footprint, comprised of (in order of placement); regarding of the northern area and small areas of the southern area a 600 mm compacted clay layer in the north area, and 300 mm compacted clay layer in the south area, a 350 mm loose soil layer, a 200 mm topsoil layer, vegetated with a mix grass seed. cover material will be sourced from a borrow pit occuring immediatley adjacent the landfill property topsoil naturally occurs to depth of avout 250m; lacustrine clay (designated for the compacted clay layer) naturally occurs from surface to 6.0 m depth. Earth volumes are estimated in the order of 600m3 for the regrde surface, 3,200 m3 for the compacted clay layer, 3,100 m3 for the loose clay layer and 1,700 m3 for the topsoil layer Tenders must be accompanied by a Bid Bond or Certified Cheque in the maount of 5 percent of the tendereed price, payable to the RM of Barrier Valley No. 397, plus a consent of surety to rpovide a prfomance bond in the amount of 50% of the tendered price.
