Project were cancelled. No bids received. Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) serves more than 15,000 students from more than 114 countries and speaking 119 different languages. ACPS has 18 schools, including two middle schools, two K-8 schools, one pre-K school and two High Schools. In addition, there are 3 other facilities which support our school division. ACPS is committed to ensuring that each and every student succeeds. The Alexandria City High School, formerly the T.C. Williams High School, was built in 2007 and is located at 3330 King Street in Alexandria, Virginia. At the time of its completion, the facility was equipped with state-of-the-art technology to support the growing demand for an education and hands-on training in the Communications field. Over time, the equipment and technology serving that program has become outdated and obsolete, and it must be replaced in order for the School's Communications program to remain current and competitive. Major elements of the planned AV Improvement Work include, but are not limited to, ACHS and Central Office Control Room equipment replacement work, ACHS Studio lighting and set improvements, ACHS Auditorium stage lighting and equipment improvement, and related electrical infrastructure improvements. A Lump Sum contract consisting of the Base Bid plus Allowance, and any Alternates selected, will be awarded to a single firm. Bids must be submitted in accordance with the instructions and requirements contained in this ITB, including the Introduction. Failure to do so may result in the bid being considered non-responsive and it may be rejected. At its sole discretion, ACPS reserves the right to waive informalities when considering a bid or awarding a contract for construction.
