The Town of Indian Head ("the Owner") requests a tender for construction of the Indian Head Landfill Closure and associated works. The Indian Head Landfill is approximately 3 km west of Indian Head, Saskatchewan and approximately 1.7 km north of the Trans Canada Highway No. 1 on the southeast portion of Section 29 Township 18 Range 13 West of the Second Meridian (SE 29-18-13-W2M). The work generally involves, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: - Mobilization and demobilization including transporting equipment to and from site, bonding, decommissioning of four monitoring wells located within the capping footprint, constructing and reclaiming any haul roads required during construction, obtaining permits, erecting temporary facilities, and providing a safety program; - Transport appropriate clay barrier materials from the Town Sewage Lagoon clay stockpile; - Supply and import to site suitable fill, clay barrier, and topsoil materials to supplement required material volumes as needed; - Reshaping, cut/fill, and grading the Central Waste Area to required grades and lines; - Reshaping, cut/fill, and grading the East Waste Area to required grades and lines; - Test pitting to confirm waste delineation along the north perimeter around the existing attendant building; - Constructing a 500 mm thick (minimum) engineered clay barrier cap over the Central Waste Area and East Waste Area with suitable clay barrier material from the Town Sewage Lagoon stockpile and contractor imported material; - Constructing a diversion berm and surface water ditches around the Work Area to drain run-off to adjacent sloughs to required grades and lines; - Constructing an access road (including woven geotextile) above the clay barrier layer (500 mm thick) as shown on the drawings; - Supply and install two culverts including rip rap and geotextile; - Placement of 150 mm of topsoil above the engineered clay cap, berms, and within ditches, with suitable imported material; - Seeding of Central and East waste capping area, as well as berm and ditching areas (and all other disturbed areas); - Surveying, as required prior to construction
