MOWING TOWNSHIP CEMETERIES The Township of Marlette is seeking bids for mowing services of township cemeteries for the period beginning May 2024 through mid-October 2026, or as the weather dictates. The contractor agrees to furnish all equipment, fuel, materials, and labor necessary to maintain the cemeteries, except for top soil and/or gravel which will be provided by the Township as needed. Responsibilities include: o trim at each mowing, keeping stones clean of cut grass; and o mow prior to burials; and o removal of grass if grass is unusually long when mowed; and o periodic removal of trash from trash can; and o spring cleaning of debris left from winter season; and o fill in sunken graves with topsoil and seed as necessary; and o trim bushes and/or shrubbery as needed. Cemeteries to be maintained are as follows: o McLeish Cemetery - Decker Rd, south of Walker Rd o Germania Cemetery - Miller Road, east of Wood Rd. Failure to perform the responsibilities listed above may result in the contract becoming void and therefore the Township would have the right to hire a different contractor without penalty The Township of Marlette reserves the right to turn down any or all bids received. The contractor hired will be required to provide a Certificate of Insurance listing the Township of Marlette as Loss Payee, and a written contract for the services to be provided.
