The Lima City Schools Board of Education is seeking bids for the "Parking Lot Resurfacing Project". This project is located at 1 Spartan Way., 503 N. Cable Road, 575 S. Calumet Ave., 816 College Ave., and 755 St. John's Ave. Engineer's Estimate of Cost. Base Bid: $550,000.00 This project has a completion date of August 9, 2024. All bidders are required to inspect the sites before bidding on this project and to be on the plan holders list for the project to be allowed to submit a bid. Lima City Schools and read; the awarding of the contract, if awarded, will be made by the Board of Education, Lima City Schools on or about May 20, 2024. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any/or all proposals. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, any proposal having erasures or corrections in the price sheet may be rejected; any proposal in which unit prices are omitted or in which unit prices are unbalanced may be rejected; any proposal accompanied by an insufficient or irregular bond or certified check may be rejected. All proposals shall be accompanied by a bid guaranty in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) and a contract bond with surety satisfactory to the Board of Education for the full amount (100%) of the bid, made payable to Lima City Schools. Such bond is to serve as a guarantee that if the proposal is accepted, a contract will be entered into and the performance of it properly secured. All bid guaranty and contract bonds shall be returned on demand within ten (10) days after the proposals are opened - except those of the three (3) lowest bidders, which shall be held until the successful bidder has executed the contract. Thereafter, all remaining proposal bonds, certified checks, cashier's checks or letters of credit will be returned. To furnish to the Board of Education, a satisfactory Contract bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the contract, guaranteeing the faithful performance of the work and the payment of the bills, and within ten (10) days from the date of notice of acceptance of this proposal, to execute the contract. Work may commence on May 28, 2024. No materials shall be ordered, or work completed, before all relevant permits are issued. Work shall continue in an expeditious manner until the work is complete. All work shall be completed no later than August 9, 2024. No oral interpretation shall be made to any bidder as to the meaning of any of the contract documents or be effective to modify any of the contract documents. Every request for an interpretation shall be made in writing at least 48 hours prior to the schedule bid opening and shall be addressed to Core Consulting, Blaine W. Cline, P.E., 201 N. Broadway St., Spencerville, Ohio 45887 or emailed to bcline@coreconsulting.engineering. All responses to requests for an interpretation will be made by the Engineer in writing via email delivered to the entire list of plan holders. All addenda will be issued to the entire plan holders list. No addenda will be issued within 72 hours of the bid opening without postponing the bid opening to give the bidders a minimum of 72 hours to respond to the changes. Question Deadline 05/08/2024. The award of the Contract, if it is awarded, will be to the lowest responsible Bidder, whose qualifications indicate the award will be in the best interest of the Board of Education and whose proposal complies with all the prescribed requirements unless otherwise waived by the Board of Education. No Notice of Award will be given until the Engineer has concluded such investigations as it deems necessary to establish the responsibility, qualifications and financial ability of the Bidders to do the work in accordance with the Contract Documents to the satisfaction of the Board of Education within the time prescribed. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject the Proposal of any Bidder who does not pass such investigation to the Engineer's satisfaction. In analyzing Proposals, the Owner and Engineer may take into consideration all information available to them. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any or all irregularities in individual bids.
