Site work and paving for a civil project in Melrose Park, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
This project includes milling and resurfacing concrete and asphalt roadways, construction of water main improvements at one of these locations, construction of a storm sewer relocation at one of these locations, and performing other related work at the following locations in the Village of Melrose Park: Hawthorne Ave. from 2000 Hawthorne to Armitage Ave. Indian Boundary Dr. from Ruby St. to North End 17th Ave. from North Ave. to Armitage Ave. All bid proposals offered must be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check in an amount not less than Five Percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, as a guarantee that if the bid proposal is accepted, a contract will be entered into, and the performance of the contract is properly secured. Checks shall be made payable to the Village of Melrose Park. No bid proposal will be considered unless accompanied by such bid bond or check. The successful bidder for the construction of the improvement will be required to file a performance bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the bid, with sureties to be approved by the President and Board of Trustees, which performance bonds shall be conditioned upon proper and faithful performance by the Contractor of the work specified in accordance with the plans and specification therefore, according to the time and terms and conditions of the contract; and also that the bidder and contractor shall properly pay all debts incurred by the Contractor in the execution of the work, including those for labor and materials furnished. The Village reserves the rights to determine the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder, to waive irregularities, and to reject any or all bid proposals. This utilization plan includes a specific Business Enterprise Program ("BEP") utilization goal of based on the availability of certified vendors to perform the anticipated direct subcontracting opportunities of this plan
