Salt Lake City is soliciting competitive sealed bids from qualified suppliers to provide solid runway deicer to the City's Department of Airports. Chemical compounds and mixtures including organic derivatives and inorganic compounds and biochemicals and fixatives and fluorochemicals. Salt Lake City Corporation (the City) is soliciting competitive sealed bids from qualified suppliers to provide solid runway deicer to the City's Department of Airports (the Airport) for use as a runway deicing or anti-icing compound. Typical orders range from 20 to 40 tons and are placed at strategic times throughout the year on an as-needed basis. It is the City's intent to enter into a supply agreement for both of the new deicing compounds initially, however after using the deicers in the field for the first year, the City may start to purchase just one of the deicing compounds depending on what product or products perform the best for our conditions at the Airport. Interested bidders may bid on one or more of the deicing compounds listed here: 1. Sodium Formate 2. Sodium Acetate and Sodium Formate Blend.
