The Work to be bid upon is generally described as follows: Rehabilitation and painting of two (2) existing clarifiers and other work items for complete rehabilitation. Construction time limit for the contract is ninety (90) consecutive calendar days to substantial completion for Base Bid work. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials (except as herein noted), equipment and means to repair and repaint the existing clarifiers and other work as described in the Contract Documents and shown on the Drawings. The Work includes, but is not limited to, the following: A. Furnishing and installing coatings for the clarifiers as required. B. Surface preparation for rehabilitation of the clarifiers. C. Repairing leaks and sealing of the concrete and/or masonry surfaces of clarifiers if any present. D. Surface preparation for the painting of the stairs, access bridge and gearbox of the existing clarifiers. E. Installation, inspection and maintenance of temporary safety measures, where necessary. F. Handling drainage and groundwater removal. G. Guarding the site. H. Furnishing, unloading, loading, hauling, distributing, materials and appurtenances. I. Site cleaning. J. Submitting schedules, shop drawings and as-built records. K. All other items required for a complete installation. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. Information for Bidders and Form of Proposal will be furnished upon request. A bidder may not withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the opening of bids. Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond payable to the Elk Valley Public Service District in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid. Bids received after the scheduled closing time for the reception of bids will be returned unopened to the bidders. The Elk Valley Public Service District reserves the right to reject any and r all bids. Bidders are required to have West Virginia Contractor's license per Section 21-11-11 of the West Virginia code. Substantially complete within - 90 consecutive calendar days; Final completion- 100 consecutive calendar days Question Deadline 05/28/2024 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda delivered at least five days prior to the receipt of Bids to all parties recorded as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than seven days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered.
