Renovation of a fire / police facility in West Allis, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

The work under this Contract consists of the construction of a new roof and all incidental items necessary to complete the work as shown on the Plans and included in these Special Provisions. Pre-Qualification :Yes A. The contractor shall properly barricade all erosion control measures and will be held responsible for all damages or claims arising from the use of the erosion control methods employed on the City of West Allis Public Works Projects. B. The contractor will be required to: Install all control measures as identified on the construction plans or as directed by the Engineer. 1. Maintain all road drainage systems, storm and sanitary systems, control measures and other facilities as identified on the construction plans or as directed by the Engineer. 2. Repair any situation or erosion damage done to adjoining surfaces and drainage ways resulting from land disturbing or development activities. 3. Inspect the construction control measures after each rain of 0.5 inches or more or at least once each week and make needed repairs. A. Where awarded in the AGREEMENT, the Work of this Section shall be performed in accord with the Contract Documents and shall not extend the Contract Time. B. Location of Additive Work: Roof Area A, Base Bid A. C. Description of Additive Work: Provide and install gutter guard system. The Engineer will make an inspection of the work included in the Contract as soon as practical after notification by the Contractor and confirmation by the Project Engineer that such work in their judgment has been completed and final cleaning up performed. Whenever the work contemplated by the Contract shall have been completed satisfactorily at the time of final inspection, the Engineer will give written notice of final acceptance to the Contractor. Should the inspection disclose any work, in whole or in part, as being unsatisfactory, the Engineer will give the Contractor the necessary written instructions for correction of the same and the Contractor shall comply with and execute such instructions within twenty (20) working days. Upon correction of the work, another inspection will be made which shall constitute the final inspection, provided the work has been satisfactorily completed. In such event, the Engineer will make the final acceptance and notify the Contractor, in writing, of this acceptance as of the date of final inspection. If the testing of materials is incomplete at the time of final inspection and the work is satisfactorily completed, the Engineer will give a written notice of partial acceptance, conditioned upon receipt of satisfactory test reports; whereupon, a final acceptance will be given without any additional inspection. For failing to comply with and correct all items of work on said "remaining unfinished work" list within twenty (20) working days of the notification to the Contractor by the Engineer of the unsatisfactory work, the sum of two hundred dollars ($200.00) per day for each and every day beyond the specified completion date shall be retained by the City of West Allis as liquidated damages and not as a penalty The contract documents may be viewed and downloaded by registering with QuestCDN online (www.questcdn.com) or calling (952) 233-1632. Questions about the Sketches, Details, and Project Manual are to be submitted in writing to the Consultant. Replies will be issued to all prime bidders of record as Addenda to the Drawings or Project Manual and will become part of the Contract. The Consultant will not be responsible for oral clarification. Questions received less than 5 business days prior to the Bid opening cannot be answered. To obtain approval to propose unspecified products, bidders shall submit written requests at least 5 business days before the Bid opening date and hour. Requests received after this time will not be considered. Requests shall clearly describe the product for which approval is sought, including all data necessary to demonstrate acceptability. If the product is acceptable, the Consultant will approve it in an Addendum issued to all prime bidders of record. Bids to be submitted electronically only through Quest CDN.
