Palmdale Water District (PWD) is seeking bids for the construction of approximately 21 feet of 12-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP), 425 feet of 8-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) and 160 feet of 6-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) and all appurtenances as specified on the plans per PWD Standard Specifications and Details. The 12-inch and 8-inch DIP will be replacing the existing water main on 27th Street East south of Avenue R. The 6-inch DIP will be replacing the water mains in Rudall Avenue and 26th Street East south of Avenue R. See Attachments for project plans and more information. Question Submission Deadline:July 5, 2024, 5:00pm Question Response Deadline:July 9, 2024, 5:00pm LOCATION OF THE WORK The Work to be constructed hereunder is located on Avenue R at 26th Street East, Rudall Avenue, and 27th Street East, Palmdale, California Contractor Selection Date:August 12, 2024 Each bid shall be under sealed cover and must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or by a corporate surety bond on the form furnished by the Owner (hereinafter "Bid Security"), as a guarantee that the bidder will, if awarded the contract in accordance with the terms of their bid, promptly secure worker's compensation insurance, liability insurance, and any other insurance required by the Contract Documents, execute a contract in the required form, and furnish satisfactory bonds for the faithful performance of the contract and for the payment of claims of all persons supplying labor and materials for the construction of the work. The Bid Security shall be in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid. The Faithful Performance Bond and Payment Bond shall each be not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the total amount of the bid price named in the contract. Contractors are required by law to be licensed and regulated by the Contractors' State License Board which has jurisdiction to investigate complaints against contractors if a complaint is filed within three years of the date of the alleged violation.
