The drinking water distribution system for the Village of New Berlin (Chenango County) has issues with providing adequate pressures and fire flows in the community. There is approximately 14,000 linear feet of 4-inch water main in the distribution system that contributes to these pressure and fire flow issues. The proposed project includes installation of a Manganese Greensand filter system for Well Nos. 1 and 2, construction of a new well treatment building at Well No. 3, replacement of all 4-inch and tuberculated water mains, installation of a radio-read customer water metering system, and safety- and security-related improvements to the 400,000 gallon storage tank.
