Construction of 445 linear feet of sidewalk (335 LF of pavement) and associated other work on Hobbs Farm Road
Estimated Award Date: June 4, 2024 DESCRIPTION
A. Background: The Town is completing a partially constructed
sidewalk by a developer. The work is located in the Hobbs Farm
Road public street right of way. Majority of work depicted on the
Plan has been constructed.
B. Work Included: Completion of approximately 445 linear feet of 5
foot wide sidewalk on Hobbs Farm Road located in Wells, Maine.
The major elements of proposed work under this Contract include:
1. Maintaining safe conditions: traffic control, Dig Safe, access
to private property;
2. Coordination with the Town of Wells;
3. Preparing and supplementing the crushed aggregate base
course (approximately 355 LF);
4. Installing the bituminous pavement (approximately 355 LF);
5. Installing 7 tip downs;
6. Adjusting catch basin rims as needed;
7. Adjusting pavement at catch basins for drainage as needed;
8. Adjust surrounding grades as needed for drainage;
9. Erosion control measures (BMPs);
10. Loam and seed all disturbed areas;
11. Re-set boulders at CB 13224;
12. Install a 3 caliper maple tree in front of Lot 12;
13. Install guy wire covering in front of Lot 13;
14. Install rip rap apron at end of sidewalk; and
15. Clean up following completion of the work.
C. Compliance with Codes and Regulations: All work performed under
this contract shall comply with the requirements of applicable state
and local codes and regulations.
D. Removals, Relocations and Rearrangements
1. Examine the existing site for the work of all trades which will
influence the cost of the work under the general bid.
2. Provide in the bid price a sufficient amount to include all
work herein specified, necessary or required to complete the
work
