Reference Number 0000351306 DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK Work under this Contract includes all necessary labor, materials and equipment required to: Repair and reinforce the existing stacked stone wall and steel sheetpile bulkhead at the Port Chester Wastewater Treatment Plant. It is not intended that this description of work mention each particular item required, but that it give information concerning the general scope and areas of work for the convenience of the bidders. The objective of this project is to rehabilitate the steel sheet piling and stacked stone wall bulkhead, which is approximately 563 linear feet in total length, along the Byram River at the Port Chester Wastewater Treatment Plant in Port Chester, New York The facility was purchased by the County in 1975 from the Village of Port Chester and expanded to secondary treatment in 1988. The steel sheet piling installation was completed in 1991 replacing a portion of the stacked stone wall bulkhead that protected the facility from the Byram River and both are deteriorating in many locations. This project work scope includes, but is not limited to, rehabilitation and/or replacement of portions of the steel sheet piling, rebuilding of portions of the stacked stone wall bulkhead and the removal of tree roots, installation of a protective coating system for the steel sheeting, construction sequencing, and site restoration adjacent to the bulkhead and River.
