The Matanuska-Susitna Borough is requesting bids from qualified contractors to complete East Devonshire Drive & Oilwell Road Seasonal Rehabilitation. Questions Due Date: May 14th 2024, 5:00 PM AKDT On Oilwell Road this project will involve, but is not limited to, Remove 40 LF cross culver @ MP 3.3 of Oilwell Rd. (12" CSP), remove and replace 30 LF cross culver @ MP 4.2 of Oilwell Rd. (18" CSP), remove and replace a 40 LF cross culver @ MP 4.8 of Oilwell Rd. (18" CSP), remove and replace a 40 LF cross culver @ MP 5.0 of Oilwell Rd. (18" CSP) and install 60 LF cross culver @ MP 11.75 of Oilwell Rd (24" CSP). Culverts @ MP 3.3 gets a 1-foot lift 100 feet each side of the culvert, @ MP 4.2 get a 1-foot lift 25 feet each side of the culvert. Culverts @ MP 4.8 (530 linear feet) & 5.0 (170 linear feet) get a 1- foot lift across the swamp where the culverts are located. The culvert @ MP 11.75 gets a 2-foot lift over the culvert for 150 linear feet. Construction on South Oilwell Road and East Devonshire Drive shall be completed in accordance with the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Standard Specifications for Highway Construction (SSHC) 2017 Edition. For Standard Specification 101 through 120, the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities Standard Specifications for Highway Construction 2017 Edition and The Standard Modifications for Oilwell Road and Devonshire Drive govern. Project specific special provisions are provided in the following sections. The requirements contained in these specifications and special provisions are hereby made a part of this solicitation and resultant contract. This project is located in Trappers Creek on both East Devonshire Drive and South Oilwell Road. See project location and vicinity maps. o Contractor is to provide resources to complete this project without any adjustments in the original bid amount or contract time. o This project is considered a Road Maintenance project for RSA 30 Trapper Creek. See site maps for locations. During construction keep all areas free draining and build a crowned surface to maintain positive drainage. All quantities include a 10% contingency. All material used should be non-frost susceptible (NSF) material. o East Devonshire Drive: Place geotextile separation placed on original ground and 18" lift for 50 linear feet. Clean up ditching for 100 liner feet on both sides of the road. o Culvert @ MP 3.3 of Oilwell: Remove 40 linear feet of 12" CSP, Geotextile separation paced on original ground and 12" lift for 200 linear feet. Ditch linear grading from the culvert removal to the 24" CSP on the northeast side of the road (~150 linear feet). o Culvert R&R @ MP 4.2 of Oilwell: 30 linear feet of 18" CSP, and a 12" lift of material 25 feet each side of the culvert. o Culvert R&R @ MP 4.8 of Oilwell: 40 linear feet of 18" CSP, Geotextile separation placed on original ground and 12" lift for 530 linear feet. o Culvert R&R @ MP 5.0 of Oilwell: 40 linear feet of 18" CSP, Geotextile separation placed on original ground and 12" lift for 170 linear feet. o Culvert installation @ MP 11.75 of Oilwell. Place the 24" CSP where shown. Ensure drainage of the pipe is towards Amber Lake (west). Tie the fill into the hill on the south side of the pipe and cover with approximately 24" of borrow material. Ditch the road for 200 linear feet to the new culvert. o ADD ALT #1: Include E-1 surface course place and compact on all sites figured at 4 inches thick.
