Rock Creek Lake BLF is a popular boating, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing facility. The BLF is also located close to various campgrounds and day-use Facilities. The rehabilitation work is anticipated to start in early April through November of 2024, the facility will also be closed off to the public during the rehabilitation work. Both the Section 401 and Section 404 permits for the project are still pending, it is anticipated that they will be obtained before the rehabilitation work begins. The rehabilitation work shall be accomplished in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the project. The Contractor shall perform quality control for the work being performed, and compliance with project specifications shall be verified by professionals selected by the Government or Government's representative. The Rock Creek Lake Boat Launching Facility is located approximately 190 miles South of Reno, Nevada, and the closest substantial community to the facility is the Town of Mammoth Lakes, CA, approximately 30 miles to the Northwest. The Facility is located on the north side of Rock Creek Lake, which is part of the Rock Creek area in the Eastern Sierra of California. This area is part of the White Mountain Ranger District of the Inyo National Forest. Directions from Mammoth Lakes: Head east along CA-203 E for approximately 3 miles and merge onto US-395 S. Head south on US-395 S for approximately 15 miles and turn right onto Rock Creek Road. Head southwest along Rock Creek Road for approximately 8.5 miles and turn right onto Rock Creek Group Site Road, the Rock Creek Boat Launching facility is approximately 0.1 miles down the road.
