**As of May 06, 2025, this project ha been awarded to Eastern Iowa Excavating & Concrete, LLC with the bid amount of $1,068,859.40.** East 53rd Street and Utica Ridge Road Intersection Improvements The City of Davenport is accepting bids for the East 53rd Street & Utica Ridge Road Intersection Improvements project. The proposed improvements include, but are not limited to, the furnishing of all labor and materials for the removal of the PCC roadway as required to allow for the intersection widening as shown on the construction plans, full depth aggregate stone base material, geo fabric / grid materials if needed, reconstruction of portions of the roadway with a PCC rigid pavement section, replacement and reconfiguration of portions of traffic signal equipment, storm sewer replacement, reset all existing utility surface features to finish grade, replacement of the adjacent entrances, reconstruction of sidewalk at the intersections including ADA ramp construction, topsoil and seeding, and erosion control. For all bids over $100,000, the City of Davenport requires a Bid Bond of 5% of the bid amount. A copy of the front page of the bid bond must be attached in the "Response Attachments" tab of the bid package. Bids over $100,000, submitted without a bid bond will not be considered For awarded bids over $100,000, the awarded contractor will be required to furnish a Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount, and said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained. Working Days - The contract time shall be per SUDAS Section 1080-1.02, A.3. c, Late Start Date Contracts. The contractor shall send submittals for traffic signal equipment to the engineer within 30 calendar days after the contract is signed and begin procuring traffic signal equipment immediately after approved submittals are returned. The Contractor shall not disrupt the existing traffic signal operation until all traffic signal poles, equipment, and materials have been delivered and received by the contractor. Equipment and materials must be stored and maintained by the contractor until installation. Working Days will begin to be charged whenever the Contractor starts work. Working days will be charged at the time the Contractor starts work. The Contractor shall complete all work, including final cleanup and removal of all equipment for the bid within 85 Working Days. Working days will begin on the Late Start date of April 1, 2026, if the Contractor has not started work prior to this date. Liquidated Damages - Liquidated damages shall be $1,000.00 per day *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and irregularities, if it is deemed in the public interest to do so.
