Renovation of a conference / convention center in New York, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a conference / convention center.

Location: 655 West 34th Street New York NY 10001 The Jacob K. Javits Convention Center is seeking a firm to provide overhead roll-up doors repairs, maintenance and fire doors drop testing. Total MWBE Participation Goals: 30% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Contracting Goal: 6% Contract term: Three years Scope of Work The contractor must supply all necessary labor, materials, and equipment to provide maintenance, and emergency service for the overhead roll-up doors at the Javits Center. OEM replacement parts required. Service includes repairs on door drives, guide rails, curtains, motors, safety edges, etc. A mechanic is to be available twenty-four 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. Response time within (4) four hours of service call.Maintenance and Emergency service should include all equipment, labor, and materials necessary to complete the work. Contractor is responsible to establish safety zones, safety guards and/or enclosures of work areas. All work must be scheduled through the Facilities Operations Department. The hourly rate structure should itemize: The supervisor, mechanic, helper, normal hourly rates, overtime rates, and travel time or mileage. The contractor must supply a warranty on all work performed. Contractor must comply with NFPA 80 2013 requirements outlined below: 5.5.1 Repairs shall be made, and defects that could interfere with operation shall be corrected without delay. 5.5.2 Damaged glazing material shall be replaced with labeled glazing. 5.5.3 Replacement glazing materials shall be installed in accordance with their individual listing. 5.5.4 Any breaks in the face covering of doors shall be repaired without delay. 5.5.5 Where a fire door, frame, or any part of its appurtenances is damaged to the extent that it could impair the door's proper emergency function, the following actions shall be performed: 1. The fire door, frame, door assembly, or any part of its appurtenances shall be repaired with labeled parts or parts obtained from the original manufacturer. 2. The door shall be tested to ensure emergency operation and closing upon completion of the repairs. 5.5.6 If repairs cannot be made with labeled components or parts obtained from the original manufacturer or retrofitted in accordance with Section 5.3, the fire door frame, fire door assembly, or appurtenances shall be replaced. 5.5.7 When holes are left in a door or frame due to changes or removal of hardware the holes shall be repaired by the following methods: 1. Install steel fasteners that completely fill the holes 2. Fill the screw or bolt holes with the same material as the door or fram
