The City will be pursuing a two-stage design competition to secure a qualified Indigenous lead designer for the Indian Residential School Memorial. Individuals or design teams are welcome to apply, this includes professional Indigenous artists. It is imperative for this project that people with lived experience of the Indian Residential School system, either as survivors, inter-generational survivors, 60's scoop survivors, or in general, Indigenous, Inuit or Metis Peoples in Canada, lead the design and construction of the Indian Residential School Memorial. This NPP is open to all interested vendors This procurement process is not intended to create, and, will not create, a formal, legally binding bidding process. It will instead be governed by the law applicable to direct commercial negotiations Anticipated Project Completion date July 2025 The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
