Request for Qualifications for Special Inspections Services for McCormick Field Renovations and Municipal Building Capital Repairs Questions due by: 5:00 p.m., May 17, 2024 The City of Asheville is soliciting Special Inspections and testing services Consultants to submit a Letter of Interest and qualification packet for Special Inspections and testing services for two construction projects involving facility improvements. One selection process will be used to select the best qualified firm, but the selected firm will receive a separate contract for each project. These projects consist of: 1. Level II 2018 NC Building Code renovations to the McCormick Field minor league baseball stadium, including 13,000 sf new construction and 14,000 sf of renovation of building sf as well as significant site upgrades totaling approximately $28M in construction costs, and 2. Replacement of approximately 5,400 sf of elevated slab in the fire station apparatus bay located at the City of Asheville Municipal Building. Work includes the staged demolition of the existing cast-in-place concrete floor, supporting structural steel beams and columns; and the installation of new steel beams, metal decking and cast-in-place slab. Construction estimate is $3.5M Earliest Projected Project Start September 03, 2024 McCormick Field construction will start in September 2024, and last through April 2026. City of Asheville Municipal building construction is anticipated to begin in October 2024, and last through April 2026. 3. General Budget: McCormick Field total construction cost is expected to be $28M. City of Asheville Municipal Building budget is expected to be $3.5M.
