Transit Road Rail Crossing Improvements. SCOPE OF WORK The purpose of this project is to improve an existing asphalt rail crossing to a concrete tub crossing along Transit Road at the Port of Wilmington. The scope of work will include demolition and removal of the existing rail and asphalt surface, grading and compacting subgrade, installation of the concrete tub crossings, and connecting new 115 # rail into existing rail at both ends. Total rail downtime shall not exceed 14 consecutive calendar days. Contractors are hereby notified that they must have proper license under the State laws governing their respective trades and that North Carolina General Statute 87 will be observed in receiving and awarding contracts. No bid may be withdrawn after the opening of bids for a period of 30 days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive informalities. Bids shall be made only on the BID/ACCEPTANCE form provided herein with all blank spaces for bids properly filled in and all signatures properly executed.
