Buyer: City of Foley Description:Purchase and Installation of Sod at the Ralph Schumacher Soccer Park for New Fields Overview: The scope of work consists principally of the purchase and installation of approximately 183,000 square feet of certified 419 Bermuda sod (large rolls) for the two new soccer fields that will be constructed at the Ralph Schumacher Soccer Park located at 18507 US- 1) Provide certified 419 Bermuda sod (large rolls) that are a minimum of 2" thick for two new soccer fields and common areas, approximately 183,000 square feet. 2) Install sod for two soccer fields and common areas. 3) Contractor shall use equipment adequate in size, capacity and numbers to accomplish the work in a timely manner. 4) Fields will have received final grade and will be ready for placement of sod. Contractor shall avoid damage to the final grade of the fields prior to and during sod installation. 5) The irrigation system for both fields will be in place prior to installation of sod. The contractor shall be responsible for the repair of any damage to the fields or irrigation system that is a direct result of the actions of the Contractor or his/her employees and equipment. Repairs will be made at the Contractor's expense. 6) Sod shall be laid with tight joints and no overlapping. 7) Tamp and roll lightly to ensure firm contact with final grade, to eliminate air pockets and to provide a smooth surface. 8) All plastic sheeting and/or netting used in the harvesting and transporting of the sod shall be removed and disposed of properly. 9) Sod should be harvested, transported and installed within a 48 hour period. 10) Contractor shall coordinate with City staff to ensure sod is installed according to the irrigation zones. This will allow for proper watering of the new sod without affecting other areas. 11) The City will designate an area for dumping sod scraps.
