Bids are invited upon the several items and quantities of work as follows: Removal and Reconstruction of 2393 plus feet of the street around the Libman Company (Front St, Sheldon St, Jefferson St, and Jacques St]. Work shall include drainage, grading, storm sewer, curb and gutter, erosion control, seeding, and other miscellaneous work that is needed to complete the project. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of City of Areola, negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value] or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%] of the total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. This project is funded in whole or in part with grant funds from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG] program. Attention is called to the fact that 1] not less than the Federal prevailing wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project; 2] The work to be performed under this contract is subject to the requirements of Section 3, 24 CFR Part 75; and 3] The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. Bidders must not be excluded from participating in any federal assistance program [24 CFR 85, Subpart C 85.35; 2 CFR 200.214], The City of Areola reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding.
