The Project involves demolition of existing fire station buildings, integration of the existing fuel station on site, and creating a new fire station building. Fire Station is a new 8,011 square foot, LEED Silver, single-story building that will replace the existing 2,800 square foot single-story fire station. The proposed fire station will be an essential services facility and the scope includes the following components: Deconstruction of existing fire station building Integration of the existing fuel station on site New fire station building consisting of: o Captain's office and public lobby o Training Room and restrooms for public visitors o Two drive-through apparatus bays and a stand-by apparatus bay o Firefighter living quarters The City has contracted with Brown Reynolds Watford (BRW) Architects (Architect) to provide the architectural design for this Project. The design plans for the Fire Station No. 4 have been approved by the City of Palo Alto Architectural Review Board (ARB) and have been presented to the community. The cost of construction has been estimated to be around $12M and construction is scheduled to start September 2024.
